NAPS members:

How is my money invested?

Up until 31 March 2002, the assets of APS and NAPS were invested in a common fund managed by British Airways Pension Investment Management Ltd (BAPIML), a company that is owned by the Trustees. The fund was unitised with each Scheme holding a number of units dependent on the value of its own assets. Since 1 April 2002, APS assets are held separately from NAPS.

Final Salary

Our policy is to aim for reasonable rates of investment return without undue risk. More information is shown in the scheme's statement of investment principles, which is available in the Scheme Documents section of this website.

BAMPS

Members have individual accounts which grow with your own and BA's contributions, and investment returns paid as interest. Each April, the actuary declares a rate of interest. The rate is based on returns on the common investment fund and the Actuary smoothes out those returns over the years to make sure that the value of your account never goes down. To ensure growth each year, we guarantee that the rate of interest will never be less than the interest rate that would have accumulated in a seven days' notice Local Authority Deposit Account over the previous 12 months.
