The Pensions Regulator is the new regulator of work-based pension schemes in the UK, replacing Opra, the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority. Its main objectives are:
- to protect the benefits of members of work-based pension schemes;
- promote good administration of work-based pension schemes;
- reduce the risk of situations arising that may lead to claims for compensation from the Pension Protection Fund.

OPAS (The Pensions Advisory Service)
OPAS is an independent organisation funded by the government, to help individuals with pension problems that cannot be resolved by their fund's trustees or administrators.

The Pensions Ombudsman may investigate and determine any complaint or dispute of fact or law in relation to an occupational pension scheme which cannot be resolved by OPAS.
