I am absent

If you are temporarily absent with BA's consent (for example because of sickness), your BA Pension membership and benefits will not be affected.

Your pension contributions will be deducted during any period when you are being paid.

If you are not being paid, BA will maintain your scheme contributions (this includes contributions you may have been making for a faster pension Build-up rate) but not any Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs). When you start being paid again, BA may recover such payments from you.
