APS members:

I am separating

The monthly contribution you make includes a 1.5% payment for a spouse, partner or surviving dependant's pension on your death.

If, as a result of separating from your spouse or partner, you want to stop making the additional payment, you can do so for the future. We cannot refund the 1.5% additional contribution for the Adult Survivor's pension for any previous period.

If you start paying for Adult Survivor's pension cover and then stop you can only re-start one more time. If you have a spouse or partner in the future you cannot go back and pay for cover for the period you haven't paid.

Any change can only be made on the first of the month, for future service only and you need to give us one calendar month's written notice.
